Resilient River Communities
Our hearts go out to the communities affected by Cyclone Gabrielle here in New Zealand. We're thankful to the agencies we're collaborating with to make it possible for our river engineers to provide additional on-the-ground support for recovery efforts.
Resilient River Communities is a joint initiative between Kānoa - the Regional Economic Development & Investment Unit, regional councils, and local authorities focused on developing and upgrading vital river management and flood protection schemes in Aotearoa.
By having resilient river communities we hope to minimise environmental, economic, and social damage caused by flooding – making New Zealand safer for everyone.
